We design, build, erect, commission and maintain. Because each stage is handled by our own team, responsibility for the finished installation never gets divided between suppliers who can point at each other.
Scope of work
Each stage below is carried out in house. We do not subcontract erection or commissioning, because those are the stages where a good tower most often becomes a disappointing installation.
Thermal sizing against your actual heat load, flow rate, range, approach and site wet bulb, issued with a general arrangement drawing.
Towers moulded and assembled under the POLO brand, with fill, distribution and mechanical equipment matched to the selection.
Our own crews erect, align, fill, run and hand over the tower, so responsibility for the finished installation stays in one place.
Annual maintenance contracts and a stocked spares list, covering towers of any make rather than only our own installations.
Service for any make
Most cooling towers that are no longer holding their design duty do not need replacing. They need the fill renewed, the nozzles cleared and the drift eliminators refitted. Renewing a fill pack typically restores rated performance for a small fraction of the cost of a new unit.
We carry fills, nozzles, eliminators, FRP and aluminium fan blades, motors, gearboxes, belts and float valves, and we match parts from the nameplate or from a sample. Work is scheduled into your planned shutdown so the plant is back on line the same day wherever the scope allows.
Before you call
If you can tell us which of these you are seeing, we can usually arrive with the right parts on the first visit rather than the second.

| Cold water temperature has drifted up | Fouled or collapsed fill, blocked nozzles, or air flow lost to a slipping belt. |
| Visible droplets leaving the fan stack | Drift eliminators damaged, displaced or missing, which also raises make up consumption. |
| Rising motor current | Developing bearing or gearbox fault, or fan blades out of pitch with one another. |
| Scale on condenser tubes | Cycles of concentration running too high, blocked bleed line, or no effective treatment. |

Works testing
Shell and hardware checked against the water chemistry the tower will actually see in service.
Basin, panel joints and distribution pressure tested before the unit leaves the works.
Fan and motor current verified against the design figure so running cost matches the offer.
Structural fixings, fan deck and ladder loadings proven before despatch.
