Non-chemical water treatment equipment.

Chemical dosing controls scale by adding something to the water. Non-chemical treatment controls it by changing how the dissolved hardness behaves. The second approach costs nothing to run, produces no dosing waste and cannot overdose.

What to know before you specify

Hard water carries dissolved calcium and magnesium. As it warms and evaporates in a cooling circuit those salts concentrate, come out of solution and bond to the hottest surfaces in the system, which are exactly the surfaces you need clean. A millimetre of scale on a condenser tube can add double digit percentages to compressor energy.

Our inline units are installed directly in the pipeline with flanged connections. Water passes through the treatment chamber on its way to the plant, so there is no bypass loop to balance, no dosing pump to service and no drum of chemical to store and handle.

For applications that genuinely need ion exchange we also supply and commission conventional softening plants. We will tell you plainly which of the two suits your water and your duty, because specifying the wrong one is expensive for both of us.

Flanged inline treatment chamber for cooling and process circuits

A stainless steel treatment chamber that bolts straight into the pipeline. Water passing through is conditioned so that hardness salts precipitate as a soft suspended powder rather than binding as hard scale to pipe and tube walls.

Ion exchange plant for boiler feed and process duty

Where the process genuinely requires hardness removed rather than conditioned, such as boiler feed water, we supply skid mounted ion exchange softening plants sized to your flow rate and inlet hardness.

Electrostatic Scale Preventer

Inline scale preventer for chiller and condenser circuits

Installed on the condenser water line of a chiller plant, the scale preventer keeps heat transfer surfaces clean without dosing. It is the unit we most often retrofit into existing plant rooms where scale has already begun to cost energy.
